Our ZERO Champion family from across the country! There are some who could not be with us we all have many things in common. How prostate cancer has made an impact on our lives. We all want a cure for prostate cancer.  More education and awareness for this horrible disease.

Senators and Congress we need you to keep the funding for prostate cancer in the budget. We are asking for 100 Million, but if you have an extra 10 Million or more laying around the prostate cancer families would be more than happy to accept it for saving the men in our lives!

Another thing that we need desperately is more education and awareness so that the men are informed about the tough decisions that they will need to make.  Right now the only test available for prostate cancer is the PSA. Yes there are down sides to this test. If men are educated earlier about prostate cancer they may not have to regret a decision that was made without weighing all the options before it is to late! Sadly I have had men say to me that they do not know what a prostate is or what BPH is. Or even the other treatment options available when they are diagnosed. This is where Education is key! 1in 9 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime and for African-Americans they have a greater risk of developing the disease. Veterans are also at a higher risk due to the toxic chemicals that they have been exposed to not just in Vietnam!

Please sign the Dear Colleague letter when it comes across your desk!

ZERO Summit 2018

Petey:
On Sunday Mom, Dad and I will be in DC for the #zerosummit2018 along with other families living with prostate cancer. On the last day of the Summit we will be on the Hill asking Senators and Congress to continue robust funding for prostate cancer. Last year we asked for 90 Million and it was approved for the budget. This year our ask is 100 Million. Fingers crossed!!

Mom will have a few minutes to share her Journey with this horrible disease and how it effects the women in our lives. Men we need to start speaking up and letting other men know that they are not alone! Yes you don’t like to talk about it as prostate cancer takes away your manhood. Some women can not handle the struggles that you are dealing with and chose to leave. And some women will stand by you no matter! My mom is one of them who is in your corner and completely understands your struggles. She has been on her Journey for 8 1/2 years!
There is a reason why God chose us, we are some of his strongest Warriors!

Pictures to follow soon!

Petey:
We had to make a pit stop because mom could not find her glasses. I had to take pictures of the scenery. After that we went into the Welcome  Center and they had a Maryland map and a beautiful painted rock! The ladies fell in love with me! And gave me my own rocks to take with me. And will support my mission too and share my picture! 🙂

Don’t worry I was safe on the sign!

Mom left one of my friends behind. Her gift to them!

World Cancer Day 2018

Today is world Cancer Day! June 19, 2009 that horrible Word Cancer struck my family. Ray was 56 years old and was diagnosed with an aggressive for of prostate cancer. When we were told I felt like I hit a brick wall at full force. Myself had so many questions that needed answers.

The words Prostate Cancer has changed our lives in so many ways. We have met some new “family” and share their joys of being in Remission. We morn with the families who have lost their loved ones in their battle with this disease. Ray and I advocate for Education and Awareness for Prostate Cancer. We speak with our elected officials in Ohio and on Capitol Hill on the importance of robust funding for research in finding a cure for this disease.

Ray is in Remission and we know at anytime this disease can rear it’s ugly head. But we are not going to let prostate cancer win. #KeepFighting #ProstateCancer #WorldCancerDay #EndProstateCancer #Zero
