Medina, Ohio 2021

Thank you Mayor Dennis Hanwell for your continued suppport for Prostate Cancer Awareness and Education.
Thank you Stephanie Mueller for attending the Proclamation reading.

Thank you, Mayor Dennis Hanwell and City of Medina - City Hall, for your continued support for Prostate Cancer Awareness and Education.

I was honored to attend last night’s Medina Council meeting and accept the proclamation on behalf of Linda Hoetger, who works tirelessly to collect proclamations across Ohio and beyond (160+ this year)... as well as on behalf of the survivors, warriors and their caregivers.

I do this for my dad, Steve... a 9-year survivor. 💙

You can view the meeting below. The Proclamation is about 7 minutes in...

Cortland, Ohio 2021

Ray was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer on June 19, 2009! Currently he is a big Loser. Big fat ZERO!!! Before you get upset on my comment of him being s loser. It’s a good thing. A zero PSA is what we want!  It means he is still in remission 12 years later! I will not say cancer free as this disease can rear it ugly head at any time. So my comfort words are remission or NED (No Evidence of Disease)!

Before you drop that next quarter! Take the time and visit your doctor for a PSA test. Your life might depend on it and your loved ones will Thank You!

Williams County Commissioners 2021

September 2, 2021 Williams County FB page

On August 16, 2021, Linda Hoetger emailed the Commissioners asking for their support.  From Linda: My Name is Linda Hoetger, I am asking for your support for the 9,010 men impacted by prostate cancer and their families just like mine. Some who live in your community and are not ready to speak up yet and share their journey. I ask for your support yearly so that one day we can be part of a cure and zero out prostate cancer. This is also a way to educate the citizens in the community with a Proclamation, message board announcements, newsletter announcements. I have become and active advocate and helping men and their families along the way. The nation recognizes Prostate Cancer Awareness and Education Month in September.

Today the Board of Williams County Commissioners' passed a Proclamation proclaiming September of 2021 as Prostate Cancer Awareness Month in Williams County.

As of 09/01/2021 ZERO The End of Prostate Cancer Logo Plates went on sale through the BMV. All the funds generated by the sale of the logo plates stays in Ohio.

PCAM 2021

Education regarding prostate cancer and early detection strategies is critical to saving lives, preserving, and protecting our families. The economic and social hardship it has on the families is huge; Prostate cancer is estimated to cost over $8 billion in direct medical expenditures.

ZERO The End Of Prostate Cancer license plates

Funds from the ZERO The End Of Prostate Cancer license plates would stay in Ohio to provide free patient navigation services to reduce financial toxicity among prostate cancer and free transportation for prostate cancer patients to doctor appointments.

Thursday, September 2, 2021

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness and Education Month in Ohio an estimated 9,010 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed and an estimated 2,000 deaths will occur in 2021

June 19, 2009, Ray was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer at 56. I was 45 at the time and did not know what prostate cancer was. You never heard anyone talk about it anywhere. But on this day I quickly learned what it was. One thing for sure I was not going to sit back and do nothing. I started advocating for awareness and education and continue to do this 12 years later! I hope to one day say…I helped make a difference in someone else’s life.

Having Ohio to be the first in the nation to have ZERO The End Of Prostate Cancer logo plates was a dream. On August 31, 2021 it became a reality! 💙💙
