Bishop-King Dear Colleague letter

As the caregiver of a prostate cancer survivor. I wanted to let you know that the Bishop-King Dear Colleague letter in support of prostate cancer research at the Department of Defense is now open and men and families in our state are counting on you to help. You can view the letter at support.zerocancer.org/fy20bishopking.

The letter urges the Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense to provide $110 million in funding for the Department of Defense's (DoD) Peer Reviewed Prostate Cancer Research Program (PCRP) in the Fiscal Year 2020 DoD Appropriations bill. As we mentioned in our meeting, in 2019 alone, over 174,650 men across the United States will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, and over 31,620 more will die of the disease.

I hope you will join U.S. Representatives Bishop and King in their effort to ensure this unique and impactful program can continue its groundbreaking work on behalf of prostate cancer patients. To sign onto the letter, your office can contact Jonathan Halpern in Rep. Sanford Bishop's office at 5-3631 or Jonathan.Halpern@mail.house.gov as well as Deena Tauster in Rep. Peter King's office at 5-7896 or Deena.Tauster@mail.house.gov. The deadline to sign on is Friday, March 15th.

Sincerely,
Linda Hoetger
