Department of Veterans Affairs presentation

Mason, Ohio 2016

Department of Veterans Affairs Whitehall, Ohio

Today we received the Department of Veterans Affairs of Appreciation. For our advocacy in raising awareness for prostate cancer. It was a huge honor to have Heather Harris Bishoff come out with her busy schedule. . It has been a while since we met and talked about the support we have gotten from around Ohio. Social media is the best, one tweet a few years ago and a tweet back to call her office was so rewarding in so many ways.
She has her own Petey family in her office too!
I have something planned for September 28, 2016 and I got a phone call from Congresswoman Beatty's office in Washington, DC. It has been confirmed and will happen. Thank you Heather for your help and support.

***Please share with your local papers and other Media outlets***

Each September, the nation recognizes prostate cancer awareness month to help defeat the second leading cause of cancer deaths among men. An estimated 26,000 husbands, sons, brothers, fathers, and grandfathers will lose their lives to prostate cancer in 2016.
An Ohio resident has been hard at work to ensure that these proclamations are renewed annually. Linda Hoetger has spoken with local leaders to remind communities of the pain and suffering of prostate cancer. As a result, more than 150 Mayors, Legislators, City Council Members, and Town/Village managers will issue a proclamation or resolution declaring September prostate cancer awareness month.
Ohioans can help raise awareness and funding for research by participating in the national ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk Series coming to Columbus, Cincinnati, and Cleveland this fall. ZERO is a national nonprofit with the mission to end prostate cancer. To participate, visit support.zerocancer.org.
