Why the Walnut?

You may wonder why I use a Walnut to make my Petey's. The walnut is the size of the prostate gland so which make it so fitting to use this to signify the size of how this little tiny nut can cause so much heartbreak, anger, emotional roller coaster, etc.

We were sitting at a support group meeting in Lancaster, Ohio in 2009 and a walnut was passed around in the group. It finally got to me and I sat looking at just a plain walnut. But then a light bulb went off in my mind! Thinking of what I can add to give it a personality. Add a few eyes, hands, feet, arms and then Petey the Prostate Crusader was created! This turned out to be my creative way to bring awareness to Prostate Cancer.

This past weekend I had a Dough Raiser at Uno Chicago Grill in Pickerington and Dublin, Ohio. The Marketing Director for the Dublin restaurant wanted us to bring Petey stuff there. So we dropped off Petey stuff in Pickerington and then headed off to Dublin. When James seen the scenes that I brought for them to display he asked if I have ever auctioned any of them off. No... it is so hard to decided which one to let go. But I think if I did ever auction one off it might bring in a good amount of money for prostate cancer.

James also said I need to make one swinging from a Vine! This one is for James for all that he did for having Petey's Dough Raiser To Fight Prostate Cancer

Starting on June 13th Petey's Dough Raiser to Fight Prostate Cancer will begin at Uno Chicago Grill in Pickerington, Ohio. It will go until Sunday June 16th, Father's Day! 

Relay for LIfe

Tomorrow is the Canal Winchester, Ohio Relay for Life and Ray will be taking the Survivor Lap! Petey wanted also to participate in the event so he of course I had to honor his wishes.
