The White House Tour 2020 -Hallway

It was an honor to finally get passed to The White House. One day I hope to attend a Presidential signing of a Proclamation for Prostate Cancer Awareness Month and turning The White House Blue in September!

On May 5, 2000, I sat on the Presidental Round Table Forum with President Clinton. When he asked me to talk I was petrified. I started off by saying...I'm scared to death! If you don't believe me check out the speech in the Presidental Archives.  Ray and our youngest son were in the audience. At the end of the forum, the panel was escorted outside. After the forum was over Kyle told Ray he was going to shake President Clinton's hand. Ray did not have the heart to tell a ten-year-old that is was highly unlikely. Kyle took off on the mission to shake his hand. Ray said he hopped on top of chairs and slide under chairs when he was met with adults that had their own mission as well. He made it almost to the front but was met with a lady who would not let him through. But then there was a hand that grabbed him and pulled him up front to meet him. It was a very good friend of ours with the PTA of the school. Mind you this was all told to me as I was outside waiting for them.
As I am outside waiting the Secret Service is looking for me. The agent finds me and says...We have been looking for you! My heart sinks.
What happened?
Nothing President Clinton wants a picture with you and your family!
WOW!
Did I get his autograph?
Nope, I was so overwhelmed I forgot to ask.
Back then I was the mousey one of the Dynamic Duo. Ray did all the talking and I did all the background work. Now I am the one who will get upfront and personal.
